Student Galleries South offers a dedicated space for student and regional artists to share their work with the campus community. The gallery hosts a dynamic lineup of programming each fall and spring, from BFA and MFA thesis shows to course-driven group projects and community partnerships. The gallery provides an essential platform for students to experiment, grow and showcase the breadth of their creative practice.

Studio Art majors in the University’s rigorous and competitive Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program present new creative research in this annual group exhibit of students halfway through their degree program. The BFA program is interdisciplinary by design; students accepted into the program come from all disciplines within the department, including art history, book and publication arts, ceramics, digital media, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography and videography, printmaking and sculpture. Students work to explore their creative development in an atmosphere that encourages cross-disciplinary activities and engagement.
The 2026 BFA Midway Exhibition features work from Cassidy Alcorn, Caleb Bartholomew, Alisha Fertal, Matthew Gravilles, Skylar Jory and Bill Spence.
Artist Reception will be held on March 5, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. in Student Galleries South.

Student Galleries South is generally open to the public during the fall and spring semesters, Monday-Thursday, from 12-4 p.m. and by appointment. Please email galleries@unr.edu for questions or to schedule an appointment.
Student Galleries South is located in the Jot Travis Building in rooms 107 and 107A.
Limited metered parking is available in Jot Travis Building parking lot on N. Virginia St with additional paid visitor parking available in the Gateway Parking Complex, Whalen Parking Complex and West Stadium Parking Complex.
