Ambassadors

The ambassadors are students who serve as the leadership and public relations team for the Agriculture, Veterinary & Range Sciences programs. The 2023-24 academic year is the new launch of this organization, which will work to promote the department to prospective students, alumni, industry and government partners, donors, and other stakeholders.

Animal & Rangeland Sciences

Hey! My name is Zianna and I’m an undergraduate in my first year at the 夜色视频. I’m in the NevadaTeach program dual majoring in agriculture science and secondary education. My dream with my degrees is to pursue a career as an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor. I feel it is my duty and honor to be a part of helping change and preserve the future of agriculture. I hope to inspire and encourage high school students to learn about the importance and show them how rewarding it is to be able to give back to their community. Apart from being an Agriculture, Veterinary & Rangeland Sciences ambassador I am also an active member of the Society of Rangland Management organization at the University. I am grateful for the opportunities given to me to network and work with amazing people. I can’t wait for a year of new memories!

Agricultural Science

Hi! My name is Alexis Martin, and I am a student at the 夜色视频, dual majoring in Agriculture and Economics. This is my first year as an Agriculture, Veterinary & Rangeland Sciences Ambassador, and I am excited to connect with prospective students and share my passion for agriculture and natural resources. I am also a member of the UNR Range Club and Winter Sports Club, which allow me to engage with peers who share my interests in land management, conservation, and outdoor recreation. Being involved in these organizations has helped me expand my knowledge and connect with the University's agricultural and environmental communities. Outside of academics, I have a strong passion for horses and enjoy learning more about the equine industry. I also love staying active through sports and outdoor activities. Whether it’s riding, playing sports, or spending time outside, I appreciate any opportunity to stay engaged and connected with others who share similar interests. I look forward to helping future students find their place at the University!

Agricultural Science

I am a third-year student majoring in agriculture science with a plant emphasis, minoring in rangeland ecology. My love for plants blossomed as a child, grew while attending Elko High School and is now flourishing at the University of Nevada. While attending the University of Nevada, I’ve had opportunities to continue my journey by being an officer in the student chapter for the Society of Range Management, and a mentor for incoming students.
