Summary

John Linn is a two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist and the Chief Photographer for KRNV News 4 and KRXI Fox 11 in Reno, Nevada. With more than a decade of experience in broadcast journalism, he brings a wealth of real-world expertise to the classroom, particularly in the areas of visual storytelling and field production.
Throughout his career, John has covered a wide range of major local, regional, and national stories, including the Camp Fire in Paradise, California, the 1 October mass shooting in Las Vegas, and the O.J. Simpson parole hearing. His work reflects a deep commitment to ethical reporting, technical excellence, and innovation in newsgathering.
John is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Press Photographers Association and the London Press Club. He also serves as Vice President for the Reno market within the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, where he helps foster and recognize excellence in the field of broadcast journalism.
As an instructor at the Reynolds School, John is passionate about mentoring the next generation of journalists and equipping students with the tools and critical perspective needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
