Nilay Etiler is a medical doctor who specializes in public health and preventive medicine. She served as a general practitioner in primary health care units, a field coordinator in various vaccine campaigns, a medical activity manager in migrant health clinics, as well as a professor who taught courses on public health and preventive medicine at both Schools of Medicine at Kocaeli University and Istanbul Okan University, located in Turkey. 

Her experience and research focuses predominantly on health equity and social justice in health.
