The Master of Science (M.S.) program prepares students with the essential technical, analytical, and quantitative skills needed for success in a wide range of careers. Graduates pursue roles in both the public and private sectors, including forecasting, market analysis, policy analysis, and advisory positions. Further, the curriculum offers a strong foundation in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, making it an excellent choice for those considering further study toward a Ph.D. in economics, finance, or related fields.
The Economics M.S. program is classified as a STEM degree by the U.S. Department of State (CIP Code 45.0603: Econometrics and Quantitative Economics). This designation allows international students to work in the U.S. for up to 36 months after graduation under F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT), which includes a 12-month standard period plus a 24-month STEM extension. For more information on student visas and OPT, visit the University's Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS).
