Services we offer

Students can connect to Counseling Services through a same-day session where presenting issues are evaluated and treatment goals and options are discussed. This session is often sufficient in meeting the client's needs. If additional services are needed, treatment goals and options may include some of the following.

Same-day and immediate support

These services are designed to help students get support right away, whether they鈥檙e experiencing a crisis, need to talk something through quickly or want a brief, informal space to decompress. They offer fast access to care so students don鈥檛 have to wait when something feels urgent.

Crisis (in person or on call)

Crisis services provide immediate support for students experiencing urgent mental health concerns, with walk鈥慽n and phone assistance available during business hours and after鈥慼ours crisis lines for nights and weekends.

Same-day sessions

Same鈥慸ay sessions are 40–50 minute, solution鈥慺ocused appointments released each weekday morning, giving students timely access to mental health support for both crisis and non鈥慶risis concerns.

Let's Talk

Let’s Talk offers free, private, drop鈥慽n consultations where students can receive brief support, ask questions and get guidance from a Counseling Services staff member without starting ongoing therapy.

Virtual relaxation room

The Virtual Relaxation Room offers guided exercises and grounding techniques to help students calm their mind and body during moments of stress or overwhelm.

Ongoing care and skill-building

These services provide students with continued support, deeper therapeutic work and opportunities to build practical mental health skills. They help students grow over time through individual counseling, assessment and educational programs.

Individual counseling

Individual counseling provides short鈥憈erm, goal鈥慺ocused support aimed at improving daily functioning and academic success through sessions with generalist clinicians experienced in a wide range of student concerns.

Assessment

Assessment services include psychological testing to help evaluate learning, behavioral or mental health concerns and guide treatment and academic support options.

Workshops offer psychoeducational and skill鈥慴uilding opportunities that support students’ emotional wellbeing, personal growth and academic success through group鈥慴ased learning and activities.

Adult Mental Health First Aid

Adult Mental Health First Aid training teaches participants how to recognize signs of mental health or substance鈥憉se challenges and respond with evidence鈥慴ased support strategies, leading to a three鈥憏ear certification.

Helpful Outreach Wellness Leaders (HOWL) peer educator program

This initiative trains undergraduate students serve as wellness leaders who promote mental health awareness, support peers, and help shift campus culture toward emotional well-being.

On-campus resources

Counseling Services connects students with on鈥慶ampus mental health resources to support their overall well鈥慴eing.

Disability Resource Center

Students can meet with an advisor to determine individualized recommendations, testing/classroom accommodations and assistive technology that may improve chances to succeed.

Group therapy

Utilize group therapy to talk or listen about behavioral and cognitive strategies to improve academic success and manage mental well-being.

Student Health Center

If you have had an assessment and have been diagnosed, schedule an appointment with a physician to explore possible treatment options using medication. You will need to provide documentation of assessment and diagnosis.

Tutoring Center

Schedule tutoring for difficult subjects and learn ways to better understand the course material by interacting with fellow students.
