Program services
The 夜色视频 supports three classic Upward Bound programs and one Upward Bound Math Science program that deliver college preparatory services and support to income-qualified, first-generation high school students. The Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science programs provide year-round academic support and college planning services to 246 students at eight target schools in Washoe and Lyon Counties. Each Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science student meets bimonthly with their grant counselor to develop goals, strategies and skills for academic success and post-secondary readiness.

Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science students attend monthly College Preparatory Saturday Sessions (CPSS). During these sessions, students engage in college planning workshops to develop post-secondary goals and readiness.

Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science provides tutoring services on the University campus and at select target high schools. University students and certified teachers provide academic support and resources to help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in rigorous high school courses and prepare for university level work.

UBMS provides additional programming in STEM exploration, research experiences, and mentoring to strengthen students’ math and science preparation and increase entry into STEM majors and careers.
Summer Programs
Our summer programs ensure students continue learning and stay connected during the summer break. Options may include:
A signature experience featuring one residential week on the 夜色视频 Lake Tahoe campus followed by five commuter weeks on the main campus in Reno, NV. Students build academic skills, explore careers, and build confidence in a college setting.
Six-week asynchronous college courses for students interested in earning early college credit, with structured instructional support provided by Upward Bound staff, including orientation, academic check-ins, and supplemental instruction to support successful course completion. US/UBMS funds do not pay for dual enrollment courses. Outside funding is used to provide this opportunity free of charge to program participants.
An interactive experience designed to expose students to college majors, career pathways, and postsecondary options through workshops, panels, and hands-on activities, with direct instruction and mentoring from real-world professionals and community partners.
Test Preparation & College Essay Writing – Targeted short-term programs focused on ACT/SAT preparation and college essay development, designed to strengthen college readiness and application outcomes.
For graduating seniors, pre-college transition programs and professional internships that support a smooth move to higher education.
