Society Range Management Meetings - 2027

In February 2027, the UNR Range Club looks forward to traveling to Wichita, Kansas, for the Society Range Management Annual Meeting. Guided by the theme, Our Enduring Grasslands, the meeting will bring together students, land managers, researchers, ranchers, and other professionals to exchange knowledge and explore the future of grassland stewardship. For our range club members, this is an opportunity to compete in student competitions, strengthen professional skills, and build connections within the broader rangeland community. Set in the heart of the Great Plains, Wichita provides the perfect landscape for learning about the relationship between working lands, communities, and a resilient grassland system.

Society Range Management Meetings - 2026

In February 2026, the UNR Range Club members traveled to Monterey, California, for the Society Range Management Annual Meeting, Herd ‘round the World. Students joined rangeland professionals and university teams from around the world for several days of learning, competition, and professional development focused on rangelands and pastoral systems. Students tested their knowledge through undergraduate competitions including Plant Identification, Undergraduate Range Management Exam, Extemporaneous Speech, and Range Cup, while also attending technical sessions, workshops, and networking events. From applying management concepts to presenting research, these young professionals turn classroom knowledge into practical skills while building lasting connections.

Western National Rangelands CDE - National FFA

The Western National Rangelands CDE was hosted by the National FFA Organization in Elko, Nevada. Range Club members assisted in organizing and preparing for the event.

Science in the Sagebrush - Riley, OR

Members from our Range Club went to Science in the Sagebrush, hosted by Oregon State University! The perfect mix of an excused absence and learning, our members got to network with other clubs while learning to "Protect the Core", and discuss fire science with Jon.

Our Range Club went to the 77th SRM Annual Meeting. Members competed in the URME & speech contests.
