Branding and recruitment opportunities
The Nevada Career Studio organizes programming opportunities for employers to recruit students and connect with the Wolf Pack. If you want to engage with students about your organization and employment needs, read below for branding and recruitment options. The opportunities listed below may not be available due to staffing availability.
If your organization is interested to learn more about the Nevada Career Studio's services, events, and programs for employers, complete our interest form below.
If you would like to schedule a virtual meeting with our Coordinator of Employer Relations, Peter Martinez, select a date and time on his Bookings page.
Fees may be associated with the following recruitment opportunities for employers who are not an employer sponsor or participate in a career fair.
Employers who are not in compliance with University policies will be asked to leave the event they are attending and/or not allowed to participate in future Nevada Career Studio events.
Career and internship fairs provide you a convenient opportunity to meet with motivated and skilled students and alumni. Fairs are an excellent way for organizations to gain visibility among students, maximize recruiting efforts for a range of opportunities and build connections for future hiring needs.
Information sessions give employers the opportunity to connect with students and share more about their organization, available positions and what it is like to work on their team. Benefits of hosting an information session include:
- Building brand awareness on campus
- Connecting directly with students
- Promoting your current and future opportunities
Information sessions are typically one hour and may include:
- 30-45 minutes of presentation
- 15-30 minutes of Q&A
In-person information sessions
Employers interested in hosting an in-person event should complete our Interest Form. In-person events are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Virtual information sessions
Employers can post an event on their Handshake account. Once you create your virtual event on Handshake, email us at careers@unr.edu and the Nevada Career Studio will review your virtual event for approval.
Promote your opportunities to students by tabling in a high-traffic area on campus. Meet with students in a casual drop-in setting and share details about your organization, current openings and upcoming opportunities. You can answer questions, distribute materials, and encourage students to apply or follow up.
Tabling is a great option for employers looking to
- Build brand awareness
- Connect with students across majors
- Have one-on-one conversations without the structure of a formal presentation.
Make connections with specific student organizations who may be interested in your industry, company or recruiting procedures. Many student organizations are looking for professional development or employer-led workshops. Ask your employees who are University alumni for recommendations or interest in connecting back with organizations they were involved in.
Note: Communications and engagement are at the discretion of the student organization.
