Latinx Student Services
The Multicultural Center is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes the academic success, retention, and graduation of Hispanic/Latinx students through its Latinx Student Services program. This comprehensive initiative provides a range of culturally affirming resources, including one-on-one mentorship, advocacy, peer networks, and opportunities that reflect and respect cultural heritage.
In addition to student-centered services, the program also hosts events, workshops, and educational opportunities designed to engage the entire campus community. These offerings aim to deepen cultural awareness, promote dialogue across diverse identities, and celebrate the rich heritage, history, and contributions of the Latinx community. Through these efforts, the Multicultural Center seeks to empower students not only to thrive academically, but also to grow as culturally aware leaders and active contributors to a more equitable and inclusive campus environment.
By honoring the lived experiences of Latinx students and creating opportunities for cross-cultural understanding, Latinx Student Services helps cultivate a sense of belonging for all students, while reinforcing the university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
What we do
Advocacy and support
Our outreach activities include:
- Coordinating workshops and resources that connect students to campus life and student organizations.
- Conducting one on one non-academic advising, support and referrals to on-campus and off-campus resources.
- Hosting college and university tours for Latinx prospective students.
- Providing guidance and resources to Residential Life for the Latinx LLC.
- Providing guidance on college admission requirements, scholarship opportunities and financial aid support to prospective students and their families.
- Supporting and advising Latinx clubs and organizations.
Partnering across campus
We team up with other student organizations, departments, and campus groups to host and co-sponsor events that bring people together, celebrate Latinx cultures, and create fun and meaningful experiences for students. Some of our events include:

- Café Con Pan
- Día de los Muertos Celebration
