Review University Immunization Requirements

International students

Immunization requirements for international students are the same as those for all incoming students, with the additional requirement of tuberculosis screening (QuantiFERON) for individuals from countries identified by the World Health Organization as high risk. Please visit the OISS website for more information on requirements.

Travel immunizations

We offer some travel-related vaccines. For detailed immunization recommendations and current travel advisories for your destination, please refer to the

Blood titers

A titer is a laboratory test that measures the presence and level of specific antibodies in the blood. Titers for Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella can be completed at the Student Health Center to verify immunity if you do not have documentation of prior vaccination.

Tuberculosis Screening

QuantiFERON Gold: a blood test that is used to detect latent or active tuberculosis. It requires only one visit and is not affected by the BCG vaccine.

PPD skin test: this is a two-step process used to screen for latent or active tuberculosis by injecting a small amount of purified protein derivative under the skin. A return visit is required 48-72 hours later for interpretation of the results.

Please note: skin test placement is done every weekday except Thursday. Test readings are completed Monday through Friday.
