• All parking areas require proper permits to be displayed Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout the year, unless otherwise specified. 
• Areas designated as “enforced 24 hours per day, 7 days a week” require an authorized permit to be displayed at all times.  These areas include the Yellow and Orange signed zones, and those areas specifically signed "enforced 24/7."
• Overnight parking is prohibited without the authorized campus resident permit or prior authorization from Parking & Transportation Services. 
• Individuals who have a state-issued DMV disabled placard or license plate are required to purchase a University parking permit to utilize disabled parking. Learn more about disability access.
• Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in payroll deduction to purchase a permit. Due to the high demand for parking, there may extensive waitlists in some zones. Employees may add their names to up to three waitlists at a time.  Please call our office at (775) 784-4654 or visit our office for further information.

PACKTransit operates a basic service in one continuous loop around the campus. This service line, called PACKLine, serves multiple stops across campus from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The campus shuttle operates only during the Fall and Spring semesters and discontinues service during Summer and Winter breaks.

PACKTransit now offers live shuttle tracking through our partnership with Downtowner. You can use the mobile platform to see real-time shuttle locations, stops, and estimated arrival times. No ID is needed to ride, and it's free for all passengers boarding at campus stops.

With U-Pass, enjoy free unlimited rides on RTC RIDE buses throughout Reno/Sparks

University students, faculty and staff have a new, free transportation option. With the U-Pass program, you are now able to use your WolfCard to ride any of the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) fixed-route buses for free. When you consider the costs of insurance, parking, gas, and vehicle maintenance, taking the bus can really save you some money. Additionally, the RTC anticipates the program could lead to less traffic congestion on campus, better parking due to a reduced number of cars around campus, reduced carbon emissions, and better public transportation awareness and ridership.

How do I plan my route?

To plan your route, bookmark the RTC Smart Trips website. RTC Smart Trips is a mobile-friendly website that features an online map with route finder. Search for the business or address you'd like to visit, click the origin button to enter your current location, and enter the time you'd like to arrive at your destination. You will then be shown a number of route options. Just remember to bring your WolfCard to ride free!

When will the next RTC bus arrive?

If you need to know when the next bus is coming to a particular stop, you can track your route in live time using the NextBus app.

You've got choices when it comes to your campus commute! Alternatives to driving alone include busing (free for all WolfCard holders), biking, walking, utilizing the Zipcar Rental service, and carpooling. With any of these options, you are eligible for 5 FREE daily permits (valid in Silver 17, Green 1 or Blue 1 zones) for those days alternate transportation is just not possible. All you need to do is register with Parking Services as an alternate transportation user.

Your WolfCard is your campus photo identification card. It is used to access many on-campus services including meal swipes, campus purchases, access to the Recreation Center, checking out materials in the Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center, libraries, and other services. You can also  for optional banking convenience. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. Member FDIC.

What are WolfBucks, FoodBucks and BonusBucks?

• WolfBucks is a declining balance (debit) account attached to your WolfCard. Funds deposited to WolfBucks can be used in most campus locations.
• FoodBucks is a declining balance account that is part of a meal plan and attached to your WolfCard. Funds deposited to FoodBucks can be used in all campus dining locations. This primarily applies to students.
• BonusBucks is a 5% bonus credited to your account attached to your WolfCard. Earn BonusBucks whenever you make a deposit of $200 or more (in a single deposit) to WolfBucks. BonusBucks can be used in most campus locations. BonusBucks can not be refunded or transferred to other users. All WolfBucks have to be used before the system rolls to BonusBucks.

At the ҹɫÊÓƵ, we strive to provide a healthy, safe and supportive environment for the entire University community. That's why we have a tobacco-free campus, on-campus medical facilities, a variety of health and education services, and nutrition support.

Recreational facilities

The University offers two indoor fitness facilities, as well as a track and various practice fields. Our memberships are low-cost and allow access to all the following facilities, as well as countless drop-in classes:

• E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center
  • The 108,000 square foot E. L. Wiegand Fitness Center features an open gym with three basketball/volleyball courts for general recreation use. The building also offers studios for dance, yoga, and pilates. These facilities are primarily used for drop-in classes.
• Lombardi Pool
  • The indoor swimming complex offers both a 25-yard lap pool and a competitive diving tank with 1-meter and 3-meter diving boards.
• John Sala fields
  • Fully lighted and covered with the most advanced artificial turf, the Sala Fields offer the students of UNR an unparalleled recreational facility. The field is open every day during the Fall and Spring semesters from Noon to 6 p.m.

Drop-in classes

Everyone has ups and downs in life. The University has partnered with a local mental health provider, , to support employees (and eligible dependents) through life's difficult moments. Mountain EAP is located in Reno and specializes in counseling and advising services for personal or interpersonal issues, such as depression, anxiety, parenting issues, or conflicts at work or home.  Services are available to employees and their eligible dependents. Eligible individuals may receive up to three free sessions per year (you may continue on insurance benefits if you wish). Classified employees are eligible to use Administrative Leave for two one-hour visits. Counseling and Advising services are strictly and legally confidential.

Whether you're looking for an excellent primary care physician or same-day treatment for an injury received on the job, the Patient-Centered Family Medicine Center (PCFM) has you covered. Conveniently located on campus, the PCFM has board-certified physicians with expertise and experience treating patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors.  Our physicians are dedicated to your overall wellness and the best possible quality of life for you and your loved ones. Besides diagnosing and treating illness, our physicians also provide preventive care services — including routine checkups, immunization and screening tests and personalized counseling on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The center also manage acute and chronic illnesses — coordinating and working in partnership with other sub-specialists when needed.

FAMILY MEDICINE CENTER

The Internal Medicine and Multispecialty Clinic (IMMC) provides lifelong comprehensive primary care. When it comes to your wellness, quality of life is about more than just managing conditions when you become ill-your health care is an ongoing partnership between you and your doctor. That's why the IMMC's internal medicine physicians work to help you adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle and develop treatment plans when you are sick. The Student Health Center at the ҹɫÊÓƵ is an accredited outpatient facility providing a wide range of health care services to meet the needs of our student population. All students enrolled at UNR are eligible to receive medical services at the Student Health Center, and faculty and staff (excluding spouses/dependents) can be seen as well for acute issues when they are not able to be seen by their own primary care physician. Please note that they do not bill insurance, but they do accept the Healthscope HSA. The Student Health Center operates on a same-day appointment system. Call (775) 784-6598 to schedule an appointment.

STUDENT HEALTH CENTER

The Child and Family Research Center (CFRC) provides a developmental, child centered approach to early education. The CFRC provides appropriately stimulating experiences that fit naturally into children's daily routines. A variety of materials and activities are used to help children learn the value of diversity and respect for all family backgrounds. Staff are committed to helping meet the needs of children and families for appropriate child care. The CFRC provides a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development of young children. This program provides early childhood care and education to children age 6 weeks to 6 years old. The CFRC is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This program is restricted to children of faculty, staff, and students.

As space is limited at the CFRC, we encourage parents and expectant parents to get on the waiting list as soon as possible by contacting their office directly.

CHILD AND FAMILY RESEARCH CENTER

The Early Learning Center serves as a model classroom in the Washoe County School District and for the learning community in the College of Education. The Early Learning Center offers multi-year, multi-age educational experiences and developmental and integrated instruction. By creating the Early Learning Center, both partners hope to create a community of teachers and students, dedicated to lifelong learning and the continuous improvement and development of educational practices. This program is free to attend and is not restricted to students whose families have a University affiliation.

EARLY LEARNING CENTER

The Davidson Academy offers two accredited educational options specifically designed to meet the needs of profoundly gifted students – an online campus for those living anywhere in the U.S. and a day school on the ҹɫÊÓƵ campus for local residents. The full-time online school further strengthens the Davidson Academy’s commitment to the profoundly gifted population by bringing the Davidson Academy experience to students whose families are unable to relocate to Reno. Both options are centered on a rigorous academic environment where students can thrive among their intellectual peers. The school's Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) process allows students to take control of their education with classes grouped by ability, not age. 

The Academy's free, public day school is located on the ҹɫÊÓƵ campus for profoundly gifted middle and high school students living in the Reno area. Classes are grouped by ability level, rather than by age-based grades, thereby providing profoundly gifted young people an educational opportunity matched to their abilities, strengths and interests. To attend the Davidson Academy in Reno, students must be at the middle or high school level across all subject areas and score in the 99.9th percentile on IQ or college entrance tests, such as the ACT or SAT. KIDS University hosts a wide-range of youth camps during the summer and school breaks throughout the year. Choose from themed, weeklong camps designed to incorporate the academic STEAM components — science, technology, engineering, arts and math — with a healthy dose of fun! This program is available to all children, regardless of University affiliation.

University policy ensures that employees are provided with a reasonable break time to express breastfeeding milk for one year after her child's birth. This policy is applicable to all employees even though the law only requires that hourly employees be covered. Please see Administrative Manual chapter 2,180: Support of breastfeeding Employees for information about available spaces, rules for use, and break periods.

Section 7 of the Fair Labor Standards Act states that employers with more than 50 employees must provide reasonable break time for nursing mothers. Please see  for information about lactation room requirements; time and location of breaks; coverage and compensation; and prohibitions on retaliation.

If you feel you are covered by and UAM 2,180 and have been denied the protections to which you are entitled, we encourage you to file a report with the Center for Civil Rights and Equal Access as soon as possible.

If you are in need of a comfortable and discreet place to pump milk, please speak with your department's administrative assistant to identify the closest and most appropriate location for you. There may not be a designated space in your department, but often times our employees volunteer their own work spaces to breastfeeding colleagues whose work spaces are not suitable. Your department's administrative assistant will help find a space you can be comfortable in or coordinate office-sharing if needed. breastfeeding mothers may also reference the following list of publicly available spaces on campus.

Breastfeeding in public in Nevada is your legally protected right.

Per the Nevada Revised Statutes, the breastfeeding of a child does not constitute an act of open or gross lewdness, nor does it constitute an act of open and indecent or obscene exposure of her body. ( and )

Per and , all nurseries for infants and toddlers shall provide an appropriate, private area on the premises where a mother may breastfeed. This regulation applies to the University's Child and Family Research Center.
